A few weeks ago, on a warm and beautiful Wednesday in November, the Match staff wandered outside during lunch to talk to students and faculty about how their day was going. Homecoming Weekend had come and gone, and the NLI (National Letter of Intent) NCAA athletic signing ceremony took place in Oates Theater that afternoon, for those students planning on playing athletics in college. Many students attended the signing ceremony to support their classmates.
Here are some snapshots from that day.

Reflecting on the week ahead, one senior said, “The week looks good, I only have things to look forward to.” He mentioned that he had a haircut at 7:15 p.m. that night but was going to try to attend the boy’s semifinal soccer game that night. He also mentioned that he was happy to see some of his friends sign to play sports at various colleges at the athletic signing ceremony. Photo credit: Ava Riddle.
When talking to a group of sophomores, they expressed their disapproval of the day’s lunch, with one saying “normally it’s pretty good, but today it’s bad. The cookie is good, though.” One sophomore was debating on whether or not he should run distance or sprints for the winter track season, starting the following week.
